THE CROSSES OF CHURCHES

To be controlled by anger, fear, or hate is a reflection not of who you were born to be but of how you were raised. The words that you hear are those words that you will repeat. You have no strength nor weakness if neither one will admit defeat.

I found the peace inside of love that I thought I could never know or deserve. I felt I was only born to understand suffering and pain but look at me now; I am bathing in the rays of my sunshine while shaking your feathers in your rain.

I know no judgment, for I was once judged; I now know fear because I was fearless. I never believed in religion until I found faith. I never believed in god or the devil until I heard them inside my heart and head. I never thought of heaven nor in hell until the gates of their world I fell.

Give this light of my daily bread on my hunger of confusion you fed no more I take that cross off your unholy neck and hang it on the church burning door screaming at last from this prison, I am at last free.
