Comfort

It's true some people are born with thin skin. But I feel more like I was born without it, one big raw exposed nerve, writhing and angling for some kind of comfort. Only finding it when I amble off into the woods alone or sit by the creek to listen to the water.
Writing is the only thing I've had.
I hide in words
but sometimes not even they save me.
