Becoming a man (rewrite)

In a not-so-distant day to come,
I'll transcend from boyhood, I'll overcome.
No longer a child with a hand held tight,
I'll venture into a world, bathed in my own light.

In this vast realm, I'll strive to believe,
That adulthood's embrace is what I'll achieve.
A man must exude strength, sturdy and true,
Respecting the Lord, ensuring righteousness ensues.

A virtuous path, I'll ardently tread,
A testament to the goodness I'll spread.
With certainty, I declare my grand plan,
To evolve into a man, worthy of commend.

In honor of the past, my father's pride,
I'll wear his hat, a symbol deep inside.
Yet, kindness and grace shall never depart,
For a man of substance possesses a gentle heart.
