The Main Distraction

Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)

Sit back.
Strap in.
And...
If you can,
Hold onto those perceptions.
Deceptions performed,
By the warm up act.
With guaranteed laughs.
Directly to attract,
Divisions, bigotry and racist beliefs...
Repeatedly revisited.
From a long gone nonexistent past.
Updated for your pleasure and enjoyment.

Prepare for the Main Distraction.
Promising more,
Than fiction deluding truth and reality.
Preventing them both,
Equally, in our lifetimes, to believe possible.
To observe, witness or ever to see personally.
Done to keep away and hidden.
From all minds and eyes to do purposely.

Well folks,
As your host I offer and introduce,
As the messenger I am to be.
Without further delay,
That Main Distraction is here and promises,
To give you what you paid for.
With investing in time and your money spent.
For a thrill you neither expected,
Nor to receive.
Promising before you leave.
Perhaps, perhaps not.
Needing assistance to breathe your breath,
Normally.

So...
Sit back.
Strap in and attempt to relax.
And remember,
The warm up act...
Had only been,
An effort to release...
Your tension.
At the expense of others.
For a momentary relief from reality.

Truth has begun to take center stage!
And I will quickly disappear,
Through that exit door.

'How long is this Main Distraction?'

I said,
I was only the messenger.
Nothing more or less.
Nor have I been formally introduce...
To those folks behind the scenes,
Looking as if they have come prepared...
For a long awakening of minds,
Unconscious and unaware...
Of what common sense is to use it.
And how thoughtlessness,
Can be detrimental to one's health.
I gotta go to know,
Once the mind is gone?
Difficult it is to find a replacement for it.

Sit back.
Strap in.
Who knows?
The end result,
May or may not be that painful.
So I've been told.
But...
For whatever the reason,
I've never been one to ignore a lesson taught!

I gotta go.
I can't bear to hear those gut wrenching...
I was going to say screams.
But who am I to reveal,
What could or could not be...
Your experience.
Oh!
I forgot to tell everyone,
The muzzles you all will be issued...
Are for your convenience.
However...
Who knows?
Some may and some may not,
Choose to keep them as souvenirs!
Oh...
One more thing.
If fainting occurs,
During the performance of Main Distraction?
Keep your fingers crossed.
You may or may not be,
The one who does it first!
