Love so amazing, so divine

Royston 1946 (Reading)

His hands and feet to the cross were cruelly nailed
and deep into his side a roman spear was impaled.
Although Satan fought hard, Christ to overthrow,
Jesus held me tight and He would not let me go.

He was wounded for me there on Golgotha’s tree
Jesus, my Lord my God laid down His life for me.
No greater love will I ever experience than this,
that to save my life Jesus willingly sacrificed His.

The cross was the pivotal point in time and space
where the eternal battle was won for Adam’s race.
The Age of the Law ended when Jesus Christ died
The Day of Grace began when, “It is finished!” He cried.

Death was vanquished and Satan was defeated.
Heaven was opened and our salvation completed.
Sin’s debt had been paid and we were forgiven
and Jesus Christ became the first Man in Heaven.
