soul

Soul
Charred and blackened.
Badly burned,
The old tree stood standing.
Same as my soul.
Lush and green
Out of the old tree
The new tree stood standing.
Same as my soul.
The new tree started growing.
Out of the old tree
Strong and tall,
Same as my soul.
The old roots had grown deep
Nourishing the new tree.
The new tree overtakes the old tree,
Same as my soul.
The cycle of life begins,
The new tree is waiting
For the cycle to end
And begin again…
Sane as my soul.

About this poem

Iwrote this poem about a burned and blackened cedar tree that was struggling to grow again, same as my soul.
