No Place To Call Home

Deborah L Butts 1953 (Annapolis, Md)

             No Place To Call Home

I knew a place that I once stayed
Of a love that wouldn't stray
A place to come and feel at home
With warm hugs never alone

But one day you went away
From this place I couldn't stay
And now here I am all alone
Wondering when you coming home

To this place we once shared
The two hearts that really cared
These memories of faded past
This pain I endure will always last

To this place I always knew
Oh how our love that only grew
Realize there will be no place
To hold you tightly with embrace

So as I travel this lonely path
Waiting the day to come to past
When no place to call my home
Is only where I slowly roam

About this poem

I lost my husband over a year ago. Still finding it hard at times. Been writing poems most of my life but never submitted them. This will be my first time

Am in the medical field. Love to write on paper how I feel. It seems to help ease the pain more…
