Lost & Found

LOST & FOUND

Sitting on the beach, sand wet between our toes,

Where this will lead, will we ever know?

My heart says, I love you

My mind says, slow down

Will my heart end up in the lost and found

Together we sit, warmed by firelight,

I think I’m getting lost in the heat of the night.

My heart says, I love you

My mind says, slow down

Will my heart end up in the lost and found

Together we lay watching the sunrise,

I think I see my future, deep within your eyes.

My heart says, I love you

My mind says, slow down

Will my heart end up in the lost and found

Will our lives go on with us together as one,

Or was this a game for you, all in good fun.

My heart says, I love you

My mind says, slow down

Will my heart end up in the lost and found ©

About this poem

“Sand wet between our toes” was stuck in my head for weeks. When I started writing, it came out like a river.
