Forget

I often wish I could forget,
forget the dark endlessness of your eyes
And the way your voice lulled me to sleep
On my darkest nights.

Forget the way your hands felt when you held me.
I wish I could erase your smile from my mind,
The carefree look of it,
And the hundreds of butterflies that it left behind.

I wish for you to be gone from me,
To forget the love I had for you,
And the love I thought you had for me.
