Christmas To Me

When I think of Christmas
And what it means to me
It has nothing to do with colored lights
Or even a Christmas tree

My mind goes back to long ago
To a rough and rugged cow stall
In which was born a little child
Who is the Savior of us all

I think of that little manger
And all it held inside
I think of the reason Jesus came
For He was born to die

I wonder just how Mary felt
When she looked on His precious face
And if she knew deep down inside
That one day He’d die in her place

I can sense just how the shepherds felt
As an angel appeared unto them
And told of the Savior’s wonderful birth
In a town called  Bethlehem

I can see the wise men follow the star
That shone brightly from above
I can see them as they kneel down
While offering their gifts of love

It seems I can hear the flutter
Of a million angels’ wings
And hear the thunders roar with song
Of praise to our new born King

I can in no way tell it all
For it was the greatest day on earth
The day that Jesus came into the world
That we all might have new birth
