Chances
Gianna Darnell 2005 (Massachusetts)
Chances
Chance after chance and yet you still fucked up
I gave you the key to my heart, yeah i guess you
can say you lucked up
You see forgiveness was never the issue
Me letting go, i knew id miss you
Its the memories for me
All the laughter and deep conversations
The history i can’t unsee
The ways we can be
The way you used and abused every single chance
But yet you walk around and prance
Like nothing happened, we push it aside and forget it
Your supposed to be the person i can be myself around
Shit forget it.
But yet my heart falls to the ground
You walk on it like it’s eggshells and each time you hear that crack it’s another reason I shouldn’t go back
The only thing keeping me here is you and shit im losing that too
What do I do?
Apologies without change is manipulation
Losing that motivation
everything turning into frustration
What do i do? Another chance?
One. Two. Three. Four?
how many more?
You’re greedy.
Taking pieces of me like im some kind of cake
Shit but those thoughts are starting to bake
How do I escape?
I need to make a break.
Stop acting so fake
This isnt you
You wouldn’t hurt me i know it
Start to show it
Before its to late and i walk away
And all you can do is pray…
Wait and wait each day
As something will change
Look in the mirror
Whos that monster in that reflection?
Thoughts going in all directions.
Leading to another chance
Putting that bridge down watching the light turn green
As I start to feen
Feening for you, for that warmth when your skin touches mine
Others can get in line
Because your mine
Even after all you have down
Your love is all i know
And that shows.
