Among the stars

Quinlan Grant 2011 (Madison, MS)

Glistening with light,
Oh! So beautiful and bright.
You fill up the night sky, and look so pretty as I walk by.
But never in the dark, with no light.

I will spend as many days,
As long as I can stargaze.
There are red, yellow, or white! Just like a moon pie, that I can bite.
They say “How long will it take, when it comes to days?”

Oh, I couldn’t bare,
To live without this nighttime air.
Yes, my thoughts intertwine, but I love how the stars shine.
I have such an imagination, it’s easy to bare.
