Road To Oblivion

Gone are the days

when hope used to rise

with the early rays of the sun

the night seems to give shelter

from the cruel truths of the day

not a day passes without

the feeling of mounting despondency

and wishful thinking akin to a rainbow

of what is lost

or what could have been

are these the fruits of sin

to which i am no stranger

or is it just the test of time

which is running away from me

not an action passes without judgement

nor a decision without doubt

who is a companion

and who a foe

for they all seem alike

on this road to oblivion
