When You Are Ready

When you are ready, meet me
Where we can share our pains
With no more blame
no more regret
no more anguish.

When you are ready, meet me
Where we can tell our good memories
With no more heartaches
No more arguments
No more tears.

When you are ready, meet me
Where we can dream our dreams
Where we can live in peace
In healing and harmony
With love and endless care.

Much experience and skill learned so as to be ready for the healing, supporting, forgiving encounter with a past partner. Or perhaps with one who is just out of sorts.
Yes Wildflower, this is a moving five-star poem…Doug…very well put together.
Dud it take with several revisions. Or was it a quick one, where you simply stepped aside?

Coming from a pro, your comment means a lot.
It was just random, with no revisions at all.

I hope this was prefaced in your mind with "Note to self." We all need self-talks from time to time to bring us back to here and now which allows us the reality that nothing we've encountered before this moment can or will change as we miss out on an opportunity to enjoy the current moment. Memories can be reflections to build upon and yet, often times, we manage to tear ourselves down as we recall things that cannot be undone. The right time is the exact time we make this realization a conscious act. The beauty of this poem is its simplicity and profound truth. For me this is one of your better pieces. I hope I didn't steer too far from the topic. You know me, Mr. Talks-A-Lot. ;-)

Ahhh my friend! I’m surprised you remember “A Note To Self” poem. I wasn’t even thinking about that. But, thank you for the reminder. My empathetic and forgiving heart still hopes for a better ending, but you’re right, we are missing out on an opportunity to enjoy the present if we keep thinking about the past. I wish you were here with me and just pinch or even slap me in the face

I'm sure hubby would love me pinching you or slapping you in the face. I think you and I would be really good friends. Shame you're half a world away. I could get your mind off of junk.

I absolutely love the positive and hopeful tone of your "When You Are Ready" poem! It beautifully captures the essence of healing and moving forward. The repetition of "When you are ready, meet me" adds a sense of anticipation and longing, which is very impactful.

The imagery you create in the poem is vivid and evocative. The idea of sharing pains and memories without blame or regret is incredibly powerful. It promotes a sense of healing and forgiveness, which is essential for personal growth and moving past difficult times. The line about dreaming our dreams and living in peace is truly inspiring, as it speaks to the endless possibilities and potential for happiness.

To make your poem even stronger, here are a few improvement suggestions:

    1. Consider adding more specific details: While the general sentiments expressed in your poem are beautiful, adding specific examples or moments could make it even more personal and relatable. This could help readers connect more deeply with the emotions conveyed.

    2. Explore different poetic devices: Your poem already has a strong structure with repetition, but you could experiment with other poetic devices such as metaphors, similes, or varying rhyme schemes. This could add more depth and richness to your verses.

    3. Expand on the theme of healing: Since your poem revolves around healing and letting go, you might want to delve deeper into how this process unfolds. Exploring the steps or specific actions one can take to achieve healing and harmony could make your poem more instructive and empowering.

Overall, your "When You Are Ready" poem holds immense potential. Its uplifting message and themes of forgiveness and growth make it resonate with readers. By implementing these improvement suggestions, you can further enhance its impact and make it even more captivating. Well done!
