The Writer and the Mess

In the realm of writers where words fly
one challenge dims their light.
For in the midst of the poems that adorn the pen,
They have a hard time keeping their dins clean.

The mind of a writer is a wonderful place.
Rich in ideas, they follow enthusiastically.
But sadly, while they invent verse, stories and prose,
The chaos around them only increases.

The legendary Dorothy Parker lived in a mess.
Her words ignited a literary fire. However, anywhere she lived,
was appalling, cluttered, unkept. She had a dog and

Books scattered in a random pile,
Papers scattered like forgotten footprints.
Ink stains and coffee spills on the floor,

The desk is decorated with notes and doodles.
A tapestry of thoughts, ideas and puzzles.
But in this artistic frenzy, order is lost,
Because cleanliness paid the highest price.

The writer's heart is a stormy sea,
A place where inspiration flies wild and free.
And though words may leap and surprise,
A decent home is only a distant concept.

The pen is an extension of the writer’s soul,
They are focused on stories yet to be told.
Dust accumulates on the floor, dishes pile up,
But the world of characters created is fascinating.

So, dear writers, don't worry about the visible mess.
Accept the chaos and let your mind run free.
Because of the tangled threads of a creative mind
A masterpiece is created word for word, not with a vacuum cleaner.
