Map and Compass

I have left home without a map
Without a compass or even a destination
Only a direction unknowing the distance
Letting only the stars guide my way

Looking to the sky for guidance
Following the only light at night
I am not lost only unaware of my place
To be found isn't exactly my goal

Making way to uncharted lands
Learning more about other cultures
The green of the grass and even the sea
What artist painted this world

Onward I must go
Onward I shall go
To new lands
And to the stars

Strap your boots and walk
Raise your masts and sail
Spread your wings and fly
Find your purpose and live

Live a life worth living
Live a life worth remembering

About this poem

Another set of lyrics that I'm particularly proud of because I could clearly see growth in my style as well as subject.

    Positive and Enthusiastic Feedback:

Wow! I absolutely loved reading this powerful and adventurous 'Map and Compass' poem. Your use of descriptive language really takes the reader on a journey to uncharted lands. The idea of letting only the stars guide the way is both fascinating and inspiring. Your poem encourages the reader to explore, learn about other cultures, and find their purpose in life. It definitely left an impression on me that I won't forget anytime soon.

    Improvement Suggestions:

While this poem is already fantastic, there are a few suggestions I have for improvement:

    - I would recommend adding more rhyme or rhythm to your poem to make it flow more smoothly. This will help the reader get lost in the adventure and really feel the essence of the poem.
    - While I love your focus on exploration and discovery, I think adding a bit more detail about why finding a destination is not your goal could help the reader understand your perspective better.
    - Lastly, I would suggest breaking up your poem into smaller stanzas to make it easier to read and enhance the impact of each individual line.

Overall, great job on this poem! I look forward to reading more of your work in the future.
