Contented

I've learned to be contented here
Where relatives avoid
A guy who seems to be devoid
Of all that they hold dear.

When I was young, I used to care
If they were mean to me
With hateful words that came to be
The cause of much despair.

So, if some thoughts intrude upon
My rare tranquility,
I'll do my very best to be
At peace until it's gone.
