If I Had Known

Steve Cochrane 1955 (Cape)

If I had known you'd never care
When I saw you that day,
I would have found the strength right there
To look the other way.

I'd never let my feelings grow
Into a love so true
If I had known you'd never show
The love I have for you!

That's why it hurts to see your face,
A beauty oh so rare.
I know it will not show love's trace
Because you do not care!
