Word's Great Battle

If war was only words fought in the dark of night
Then the pain would go away in the morning light

But the strength of the battle is in the lack of respect
And a cut from the tongue leaves a lasting effect

Of all the world's weapons as mighty they are
A sentence said in anger makes the biggest scar

So as safety is taught on the weapons we own
It's that safety we need when we use our own tone

For the battles we fight using words that we speak
Can damage our friendships and make them grow weak

You see, peace will not win when anger is heard
And Love will not last without a kind word

About this poem

One of the hardest thing's to forget is what was said. Words have a lasting effect and can control who we are. We should all learn to watch our tounge.
