Springtime in Lake Louise

Lake Louise pristine water
Turquoise blue of the glaciers melt
Its stillness at the foot of the Rockies
Majestic, tranquility, spectacular!

Such a place stand I in awe!
No works of man can match nor build
It’s height, nor depth, nor breath
Every layered rock placed where it be
The unspoiled natural spring
It’s pristine beauty, the creatures gather!

Canada’s Lake Louise
Grasp your imagination real
The floating clouds that wrap its peak
Reveal the Creator’s hands
The world come to see
And stand in praise of thee!

About this poem

Spring is in the air as I checked into the hotel right on Lake Louise, Canada. Beneath the melting ice, the lake and its mountains locked me in its beauty for 4 days. Its awesome view, as I awake every dawn and stare into its darkness every night, made my stay a heaven!

Jenny L. Kwok

In my teens, I arrived to the best place on earth, Canada! Growing up, I was caught on by the poems I had to memorize and recite in the elocution class. How cleverly words and rhymes in poetry could convey thoughts, sentiments and explanation so well. But for decades writing poetry had been dormant, until I went to Banff and had a awakening. This Spring, is my first few attempts in penning them. Thanks! more…
