Only Half Sane

I think I’ve only been sane
half of my life.
Pulling daisies out of my hair,
their roots, steadfast in my brain.
I am no longer rooted,
I can say this because
I unrooted myself knowingly.
Because I thought,
stupidly and rashly believed,
that you’re only as beautiful
as the daisies you pull from your hair.

About this poem
