HOME
Home is not where you've lived since birth,
Nor it is your parent's backyard's earth,
It is not the place where you were born,
Nor it is the house where you've miraculously grown
It's the life for which your heart beats,
It's the Innisfree to your W.B. Yeats,
It's the enchanting sight for which your eyes shine,
It's the HOME by Warsan Shire
It's the godly feeling for which your soul craves,
It's the place, when distant, cause weaknesses,
Somebody you have never met,
Somewhere you have never been,
Something that is unknown and yet,
For which you are always keen
This unknown home is what keeps us going as we know,
That someday, somewhere, someone will be our home
About this poem
It's about a house not being a home. Every line represents a contrasting emotion as to the previous line. It's about craving for the feeling of being at home and not knowing what home is to you
