Grief

genesis 2003

Who once was a vibrant and happy girl is now an unfeeling being who comes off as a callous soul penetrating anything she touches with bitterness and animosity. The world around her is no longer color but a bleak shade of gray and a reminder of her constant misery. Her source of strength and light slowly dims away day by day. She wonders; when this light inevitably fades away, will the little light left inside me die that day?

About this poem

A poem about a young girl coping with her mothers terminal diagnosis. As her mother enters hospice, the girl faces the dark journey she will have to embark on, grief.
