A Whiff of Freedom

I dance...oh debauched!
She sang a romantic song..decadent!
That girl is educated...how arrogant!
She speaks her mind...well feminist!
She works for a living...Damn selfish!
She is a home maker...so lazy!
That girl is bold...over confident!
This girl who is expressive...cheap!

Wont this change ?
This is so strange.
Cant I dance to that song till dawn,
Without encountering a hellspawn?

Wont i get to speak my mind,
My limits arent your duty to remind!
My head held high,
Without the fear to justify.

When do I get to decide my best
and not be suppressed?
Can't i make my choice,
Without the pain of devoice?

Can't i wish to sing my favourite song
Like no one is cribbing all along.
I wish to laugh out loud and cry when in gloom,
Than just drip in the rain to hide these tears from those who assume.

A woman, i am,
In me is the goddess you worship;
In me is the mother you love;
In me is the daughter you adore;
In me is the sister you support;
In me is the friendship you crave;
In me is the faith of life, birth, truth and faith.

Let me live,Let me love
Let me seek my happiness and above.
Let me be me and find my joy,
Than lose myself as your coy.
For the day has come where,
This is not at your mercy but my will.
