May you be so!

May you love
the unloved things,
the dandelion, the worm,
& the spiderlings.

May you feel
the roses & lemons;
the same way
you sense the thorns.

May you run towards
rain-swept meadow,
the same way
you look at sun & snow!

May you relish
the sweetness of labor,
in the manner
you savor the grandeur!

May you be the voice
for the unspoken one;
may you lend ear
to the lonely man!

May you reach the height
you so very deserve,
yet be grounded,
sober & so gentle!

May you, my baby,
be one in a zillion;
In you, I see all virtues,
a personification!
                                  ...Mamma
