The Hauntings of Oneself

The melodies that are controlled in the mind oneself can't control.
The repetition of speech within a dialogue that wouldn't teach.

To bribe, and rant so some will think, Its the haunting of oneself and wont allow itself to preach.

Pleasant words or rhymes, some will say 'I conquer' their mine, when in truth there are two who will feed you lies until you're blue.

Evil they say until you believe in their ways, so they have reasons to laugh from day to day.

But all you say its a dream, its a dream, it never happened...

...if you know what I mean.

About this poem

This is about mental disorders that are also associated with the mind being controlled... or is it really a mental disorder?

Shanique L Marshall

I have been writing poems, music, and in the process of writing a book for many years. I learned to incorporate different styles of writing, and combined them into one. Some of my writings will either be about my passion, my everyday festivities, food, to even devices. I find that writing has given me a sense of release with my emotions, or the experiences I have encountered over the years of my life. I hope you can enjoy my work, and maybe find some kind of relation to it, so you can feel what I felt. more…
