Wildflower

Aashi Mishra 2008 (Gujarat)

Greetings! It's me
Whom you never notice
Lacking attributes to entice.
Unembellished plain wildflower
In the field of
Roses, lilies and sunflowers.
In the landscape of beauties
The beast;
Clear misfit.
Rocking with the breeze,
Void dreams,
Brittle but brave.
Yet something I crave;
A place in a bouquet,
With words of adoration.
Surrounded with butterflies
And fluttery sensations.
Captured in an aesthetic photograph,
Written by a poet
Alas! How easily I forget
What poems are about.
Colours in roses,
Lilies and their innocence,
Sunflowers with reverence.
Whereas me,
An unwelcomed being
In a bewitching garden
Meant for roses, lilies and sunflowers.
_Aashi

About this poem

There are times you feel that you don't fit in. When your difference, which is supposed to be your identity becomes your enemy but everyone is special and so is this wildflower who feels insecure, so let's look into its thoughts.
