The Past Romance

The Past Romance

On that unseasonly cool day, a bit less than warm
She rode into my life, on the winds of a storm
Her beauty was stunning, as I stood there amazed
She giggled a bit, as bedazzled I gazed
Like the winds of the storm, our romance began
In the warmth of that summer, we loved hand in hand
With a love in my heart, her beauty in my mind
Seemed to build something, to last for all time
But romance can faulter, and a heart can be broke
Yes love can disappear, as quick as a stroke
That warm summer day, with her not at my side
How much I did wonder, for a reason I cried
As I stood there in silence, she rode off on the wind
A love with such promise, was now at a end
