Shiraz

In the land of Persia, where ancient tales abound,
Lies a city called Shiraz, a gem to be found.
Its gardens are lush, with roses in bloom,
And its vineyards produce wine that banishes gloom.

The poets of old found solace in its walls,
And wrote of its beauty, its mosques and bazaars.
Hafez and Saadi, two legends of verse,
Called Shiraz home, and their words were a curse
To those who sought to silence their art,
For their works live on, touching every heart.

The scent of jasmine fills the air,
And the sound of the river is heard everywhere.
The people are kind, with warmth in their hearts,
And the food is divine, a work of fine art.

Oh, Shiraz, you are a wonder to behold,
A city of history, a city of gold.
May your gardens bloom forevermore,
And your poets’ words continue to soar.
