Shadows

Peace in loneliness has left.
My solitude turned to chaos.
Chattering termites invade the space within; shredding every ounce of silence I ever owned.
The bodies I buried deep in the core of my core are awakening, rising for justice.
Face to face with the parts of me I don’t want.
Restitution is being demanded for the sins I’ve committed against myself,
Emotionally bankrupt and I cannot pay the debt.
Pacifying the surface only gave me borrowed time.
How do I forgive the unforgivable within…...and without
Tuning into the spectrum of my insanity; dying to scream ‘til my ribs rupture.
Please, I beg of you, take me off mute.
The anger festers and my gutters are clogged.
“This too shall pass” is the motto but the passing is only temporary.
Circling cycles always come back around with gifts heavier and darker than the last.
Debilitating and companionless is the pilgrimage of self-awareness.
Each voyage promising to bring forth what may be the biggest transformation yet…..
But I am a weary traveler, the souls of my shoes are worn, and there’s a hole in my jacket.
Still I trudge…...scrounging for silver linings and plunging for epiphanies.
Liberation forever on the horizon so I just keep twirling, longing for the day my loneliness returns to sanctuary.
