Lifeline

I'm being dragged down like an anchor
Into the endless depths of misery
The light above is shining
It's hard to break free

The pressure here is suffocating
The air leaves my lungs
Drifting into darkness
Vision starts to fade

I hear a voice in the distance
Crooning lovingly
A revitalizing melody
Calling me home

So sweet this embrace
No longer feeling cold
It pushes me to the surface
A new life to behold
