Leaders of the world
The leaders of the world, how they reign with might,
Their decisions, like plagues, spread throughout the night.
Their tongues are sharp, but their hearts are cold,
And the nations they lead, suffer in the fold.
War and destruction, famine and pain,
Their egos and greed, drives them insane.
They make the laws, but break them with ease,
And the innocent, suffer and bleed.
They preach of freedom, justice, and peace,
But their actions, bring only despair and disease.
The cries of the voiceless, they choose to ignore,
And the blood of the innocent, they let it pour.
The world leaders, an embodiment of sin,
Their actions, a reminder of how cruel life has been.
They may hold the power, but they lack the soul,
And the world they rule, is beyond their control.
About this poem
This poem reflects on the behavior of world leaders and their abuse of power. It portrays them as mighty rulers whose decisions, like plagues, spread throughout the night, causing suffering and pain. Despite their sharp tongues, the poem suggests that their hearts are cold, and the nations they lead suffer as a result. The poem highlights the destructive consequences of war, destruction, famine, and pain, which are often driven by the egos and greed of these leaders, pushing them towards insanity. While they make laws, they also break them with ease, resulting in the suffering and bleeding of the innocent. The poem further critiques the hypocrisy of world leaders who preach about freedom, justice, and peace, but whose actions only bring despair and disease. The cries of the voiceless are ignored, and the innocent suffer as their blood is allowed to pour. The poem paints a bleak picture of world leaders as embodiments of sin, lacking in soul and contributing to the cruelty of life. D more »
