If the mirrors could speak.....

If mirrors could speak……..

I've waited for you to smile for so long,
I’ve seen your tears and your struggles,
I’ve seen you every morning get ready,
Wiping off the sweats of the past endeavours!

I’ve been your mate since you ever started staring at me,
You’ve smiled for the world, but cried alone,
Hiding the scars of long healed wounds,
You’ve danced in front of me as if there was no one,

There’s a never ending infinity I’ve seen in those eyes,
Long forbidden dried rivulets of tears,
Cheeks with freckles and tired eyelids,
Wrinkles on the forehead for all stress that you bear…

Little did you know that someone’s been watching you,
Someone who really admires you for who you are,
The little “you” inside “me” really wants to smile,
Won’t you let a smile for the sake of the growing star…..

Whom did you want to escape from darling?
Why did you want to hide what’s real,
There’s a “you” in “me” whom you see everyday,
And I totally understand how you feel!

I couldn’t resist my urge to speak,
And tell you how much worth you are,
But I am nothing more than a lifeless body,
Just reciprocating the person you truly are.

Won’t you believe me when I call you precious?
Won’t you trust yourself just from behind the mirror?
You’re strong, powerful, and vibrant,
I just wanna let you know that I can see what your eyes can’t!
