Therapy

The anticipation of us, a promise yet to unfold
But with it comes an intense rush of sadness, a weight untold
What stories do I tell, when the future remains unclear?
I'm counting minutes, each one feeling like a year
Unsettled in my chair, I try to keep my composure
But inside I feel a hurricane, a storm that's hard to measure
Paralyzed and frozen, I struggle to break free
From this shameful dependency, that's taken hold of me
Gazing at sunflowers, their petals reach for the sun
Desperate for water, they yearn for nourishment to come
In need of sunshine, to thrive and flourish in full bloom
But unwilling to risk it all, to face the impending doom
Survive another day, they must endure and persevere
For there's no magic formula, to make their path crystal clear
Linear growth, an unpredictable journey they must take
A dying plant, on the brink of a withering end
Needs a revival, a lifeline to help it ascend
With tender care and attention, it can rise once again
And in its new growth, a beauty it will transcend
For just like the sunflowers, we all need what we seek
Water, sunshine, and courage, the strength to be unique
Survive another day, find the path that sets us free
And in our growth, a new beginning we will see.
