Sons Hands

Your life has just begun, and it starts with so much love.

Your little face is beautiful, wise, soft and kind.

Our grown boy now has his own

We witness now first hand.

Reflections again of him my mind can understand.

The little fingers wrap around mine.

Wondering how long they will stay

Wrapped as I often thought of his, a lifetime now away.

No longer does he hold my hand, but instead he holds my heart

Watching him be soft and sweet to a life he gave a start.

What will these hands become.

Besides, wrapped around his thumb

Your parents love you deeply

They sing their sweet love song

You're never out of site

They know where they belong.

Most of all, you have to know whatever your hands take on

Their wish for you dear happy child is to play and be inspired

This will be an easy task as you're already so admired .
