Loss

Kelly Hanna 2023 (Philadelphia)

I can't believe that the sun is shining. It's yellow haze of yesterday's keeps rewinding. And reminding. It's becoming blinding, and I'm finding that the more time that I think I like to drink to numb away the pain. I just wish it would rain. Instead it covers the sidewalks and shines through the trees. I try to shutter myself from the breeze. I try to remember to breathe. I preferred denial. But then time is a thief and it's been a while. I gotta remember to smile.
