The Perfume of A Lost Loved One

I smell your perfume with every step I take
That sweet, not too overpowering smell
It engulfs me
I love it.

When I smell your perfume
I see you
Your beautiful smile
Your heartwarming laugh,
 I see everything about you.

It's sad really
When I smell your perfume,
it’s not off you anymore
It’s off a random lady walking down the street Or someone spraying it in a perfume shop

That perfume was once yours
But now that your gone
Its just your scent
On another woman
Who is not you.

About this poem

This poem is about my Mam who died in November 2018. I feel as though people will be able to connect on a deeper level especially if they have lost someone close to their hearts
