Speak to My Heart

With your hands,
move my hands to serve

With
your mercy,
lift the burdens I carry

With your words.
bring peace to my soul

Oh God,
In your goodness,
hear my humble prayers

With your wings,
shield me from all evil

In your hands,
I lay my head to rest

Oh Jesus,
Through your passion,
I am blessed with strength

By your resurrection,
I am filled with hope

With your love,
you fill me with grace

Holy Spirit,
Speak to my heart,
fill me with your presence

Speak to my heart
that I may do your will

Speak to my heart
forever I will sing your praises.

About this poem

As I was sitting in church on a Sunday morning, the first part of this poem came to me as I listened to Father Vic talk about the gospel reading. Later that week on Friday, on a sunny winter morning, once again, I was inspired to complete the poem I had started. When I began to write, the words poured out effortlessly as if they had already been written in heaven. The Holy Spirit moved me to write this poem. I hope you enjoy it and are able to feel all the love that I have for my Savior, Jesus Christ.
