One World

One World

Oh, where do I start?
Every person plays a part.
We are one world!
I thought about this as COVID unfurled.
People have changed, they have lost insight.
Many are struggling with their hopeless plight!
Others have become selfish and blind.
They have a closed mind.
No more compassion.
It isn’t in fashion.
Money is the new friend.
But, it won’t help you at the end.
The unknown brings fear.
Many believe major catastrophe is near.
Everyone is looking for more,
Always, trying to score.
At what price can you be bought?
Greed is the disease, we have caught.
Humankind must stand united,
Or, forever, be divided.
Without love, we are already dead.
These thoughts are stuck in my head.
Stand for what is right and good.
Try it in your neighborhood.
When you were young, what was your dream?
I’m sure, it wasn’t to be uncaring and mean.
Hatred runs wild!
It is being stockpiled.
Acceptance and diversity is what we all need.
Start, by planting a seed.
Change begins in the heart.
So, put that in your cart.
Living together in harmony, on this fragile earth.
How much should that be worth?
