One Chance

Just one chance
That’s all I need
To prove I’ve changed
For you to believe.
Just one chance
To do things right
To make a change
In a meaningless life.
I cannot fight
But I can’t be free
Of the sadness and anger
That’s took its hold on me.
Always I’m losing
This battle of life
Every time I try
Disaster always strikes.
I can’t help the thoughts
Of destruction and pain
Maybe if I just gave up
The wrongs would go away.
Just one chance
Just one me
Will it ever change
Or forever just be.

About this poem

During addiction and crime, I looked around and noticed how much my life had spiralled out of control. All I needed to change was one chance.
