My Love, The One Who Saved Me

Mikayla Tenney 2000 (Illinois)

My Love, The One Who Saved me

Rivers flow unevenly beside me in this dreary state
Rocking back and forth, in a motion so dastardly that my breath starts to waver.
Masking the ideals I have faced therefore leading me to my fate.
Moving so haphazardly in which it leaves an unsavory flavor.

The sky is enraged in such a dreary manner,
Telling me that I should run and find cover.
Stressful movements that are too much for this planner,
So much so that I seek solace in my lover.

His arms have become my safe haven,
His eyes calm the most treacherous seas.
Meeting him relieved my emotional cave-in,
Making me feel so at ease.

My love, the one who saved me,
Made the pain overweighing my soul subside.
Giving me the gift to truly be.
Gracing me with a loving, patient guide.

For I am thankful I found him.
Fretting happens less because he stays.
He sees my potential making the chances of sadness slim.
Hopeful that he stays mine forever and always.
