Soulmates

I had a broken soul.
I lost a piece of it so
I fumble when I walk,
tremble when I see her face
and fall when there's a frown.
I had a broken soul.
It was a soul that had no home.
The sole broke and so the path I walked
was uncomfortable.
Everyday it broke.
Crack, crack, crash and burn and flash
bang I shot the hole in it
I didn't have the safety on myself.
I didn't want the safety for my health.
I had a broken soul.
It never had a friend until
I ended it all...

I have a mate.
They spent time with me
and I remember the dates.
The 6th we did this
the 8th was that but
the 15th was the best.
I realised I had something to lose.
I have a mate.
They listened to words I speak to you.
I have writers block and I blocked the ones who did wrong to you.
I would right for you.
All my words turn into love and care
Rhymes turn into roses
And rhythms become our hearts
Connected.
Tip, tip, tap and pitter patter.
When my soul broke the blood splattered
and they sucked it up like vampires.
I have a mate,
Who said they would stay.
"Till death do us part."
But they decided to throw that away.
I know this is vague.
Do or do not.
Love me or love me not.
Confusion is your mate in this story
but now I'll make it clear for you.

I don't believe in soulmates.
But my soul loves a mate forever.
I wanted hurt but God gave me pleasure.
I have a mate.
That person that I love is They.
We are simply two souls and we are
each other's favourite inmates.

About this poem

I wrote this with my current partner is mind. I was a broken boy and honestly I am still healing but I found someone who decided to stick it out with me and help me become a better man. I want to do the same for her everyday. I love you darling
