The Velvet Memory
By Albino G. Natividad
I. Glitters in the eyes like diamonds in the sky
Moonbeams, rainbow trails, look at the starlight
Satisfying moments, twilight scenes in the air
More of an inspiration like picturesque it paints
II. Hear the thunder rolling, listen to it like a music
Breathe the aroma of the desperate call of trick
Give all hail to the rainfall rising distinctly
Vivid watercolor fragments of the velvet memory
III. Heart beats like a drum, empty without a sound
Pulses racing amid the breaking of dawn
Soldiers marching wretchedly into the great realm
Ditching their defeated war beyond the calm
IV. Beneath the dagger is a case strapped in a hole
Bury the hatchet but remain stranded in the cold
Pleasure is permitted in the twinkle of a dew
Incandescent eyes quivering slightly when viewed
V. Memories so clear like water flowing in a stream
So smooth yet the rapids underneath a thriving dream
In lieu of the orange leaves falling in lethargic motion
There lies the corpse of a flickered dead emotion
VI. Trinkets of temptation beneath the hacked surface
Shake the gold dust off the wall of a blemished lace
Clouds of silver lining flashed above the head
Waves of nostalgia swinging on the sheets of bed
VII. Rock of appalling savagery stir up a tainted bottom
Little earthquakes emblazoned in a bowl of cotton
Pixies hopping from one toadstool to another
Blurring the thin line between a friend and a lover
VIII. A ripple in the ocean, a wrinkled time in destiny
Growing like a vine crawling with animosity
The master’s sigh is a cliché of strong annihilation
Bearing the offspring of a one true devotion
IX. The exploited secrets of a man’s consciousness
Barred the cognizance of one’s sole defense
To imbue the epiphany of a soul once rejected
Let alone incite the velvet memory it withhel
About this poem
