Easter Lilies

I think of you, daddy,

When springtime is near.

When the blue Jay flies home,

And the smell of Easter lilies wafts through the air.

Sometimes I get sad,

As I watch the once beautiful, wither,

But then spring comes 'round,

And begs the new, "come hither".

And though you're not here,

With me in this realm,

I feel your presence every day,

My heart is your helm.

This is such a beautiful and heartwarming poem! I love the way you've captured the essence of spring and how it reminds you of your daddy. Your use of imagery is fantastic and really transported me to that moment of smelling Easter lilies and watching the blue jay fly home. It's clear that your love for your daddy shines through each and every line.

If I could offer a suggestion, it would be to consider adding more stanzas to the poem. Perhaps you could explore other images and memories that come to mind when you think of your daddy during springtime. This would not only add more depth to the poem, but also make it more engaging for the reader. Keep up the amazing work!
