Peggy Carter
Peggy Carter was her name.
Dazzled you with her charm.
Hypnotizes you with her smile.
She had fashion. She had grace.
Long black satin hair. Skin white
as snow. Lips strawberry red.
One kiss from her is all that you
need. To send you on your way
to make you dream.
Peggy Carter steps out onto 5th
avenue traffic stops. Steals
the show. Underneath your
Pillbox hat. Beauty is all that
you see. In billboards in freeways
down Rodeo Drive.
Smell of roses and jasmine. You
know you can't look away.
A voice so soothing. You thought
you heard an angel speak.
Peggy Carter lovely as can be.
Sanged down by the One Way
Jazz Club. She lures you in.
Dancing the night away.
An Irish girl. A father named Garry
who worked at the mill. Her mother
named Carol a school teacher at
Our Lady of Agnes a catholic school.
And a younger brother named Matty
Who worked part-time at
Mr. Mc.Gregorys Deli after school.
Since she was six all Peggy Carter
wanted to be was famous. See her name
in bright lights, make headlines. Walk
down Hollywood Blvd walk of fame.
Was what she dreamed of.
From New York, to San Fransico and L.A.
Wherever there was a mic or a spotlight
is where she went. To sing, to dance,
to seduce.
She was a stunner. She was a star.
She knew the way to a man's heart.
In her long silk pearl dress a white
blossom in her hair. When ever she
performed you knew you where in
for a show. Night and day sailor men,
business men would hear her sing.
Peggy Carter had style. She had grace
Got you under her spell in her arms.
Nothing else matters that scotch is
even better. The setting of candle lights
even more soothing.
Look into Peggy Carters eyes. She
would take you into a whole different
world. Close to Venus. Maybe Mars.
Close to Aphrodities or some other
goddess.
Where heavens go and dreams end.
Stars align where Peggy Carter goes
she is beyond compare. A whole
another universe.
Where doves cry and angel's weep.
She will dazzle you every time you meet.
Oh! Peggy Carter lovely as can be.
If you ever see her. You know what I
mean. Oh! Peggy Carter where can
you be. The magic of her charm.
No one else can be..If you ever in
town stop by the One Way Jazz Club.

About this poem
I wrote this from a picture from an ad from the 1940's magazine pin stripe girl. I find inspiration in things that I never thought I would remember. A glimpse of that era.
