Anything for you

Ty Ruth 1960 (Littlerock Arkansas)

Anything for you

I heard her say that she liked apples,
so I brought her home the tree.

She said she loves how the stars sparkle,
so I bought a diamond ring.

I drove her to the ocean,
when she said please pass the salt.

You probably think I spoil her,
but it's really not her fault.

You see she's everything to me,
and all I'll ever want.

She never asks for anything,
that is; except my heart.

So if the only thing I owned,
was the air that I breathe in.

Or all my pockets held was lint,
her love for me won't end.

So if you see I'm busy,
and I don't have time to talk.

I've probably found a rainbow;
I must get it home by dark.
