Unfelt by one of us

Geoff bell 1980 (Watford)

Being near you is exposure therapy.
Feelings not returned but so heavily felt
Steps into the abyss taken
A No has been dealt
A journey I shouldnt have started
Hearts ruled head.

So yes its painful to put the jack back in the box.
Its not a broken leg and some hastily gasped NOX
Its raw,  its painful,
the on is soldiered
the sweet burden of coninuing
Friendship is shouldered.

But every exposure gets easier
Loves forcefully doused flame
The brightness Gets dimmer.
Things back to where they should be
Different but the same.
