Losing you

Eileen Goldberg 1950 (Brooklyn)

I must find a way to reach into you.
Please let me back in your heart.
We let anger speak words that
    tore us apart.
Do you think we could try a new start?
I sit here and think of the things that
    we said.
It makes me so sad, I just hang
    my head.
I let my tears flow, I already know
that when this is through I’ll
    no longer have you.
