Good Crazy

Melissa Almen 1984 (Grand Forks)

Turn off the lights, my mood is low
With all of my doubts, I just don’t know
Who are my friends and who are my foes
People wear both masks and never show

Many things aren’t what they appear to be
Always be on guard and observe carefully
Don’t let them win or even the score
Don’t be afraid to show them you’re more

Kill them with kindness is what they say
Let the leaves of fall land where they may
Victory comes to those who are strong
The truth comes out no matter the wrong

Winters chill is just around the bend
Slowing down the pace so you may mend
Know your worth and what you owe
The river knows which direction to flow

You might be crazy but the good kind
Beautiful mistakes lead to peace of mind
You are above the rest, believe that’s true
Karma does come exactly when it’s due

What is the good crazy, you may ask
It’s everything the bad guy lacks
No need to wonder or question the ending
This is the truth, there’s no pretending

Take a bow and enjoy the loud applause
You have what it takes without any flaws
The birds will sing, the storm will pass
This feeling right now will surely not last.
