Blade of Hearts

Jeffrey N. Andaya Jr. 1996 (Santa Catalina, Negros Oriental)

Blade of Hearts

When cuts and wounds are woven,

Our hearts are left in pain.

From Piece to pieces broken,

the earth then fears the rain.

Fingers were strength entangled,

Its bind was made with gold.

But when the cords are withered,

the veins are made with molds.

The echoes of it snapping,

heard none by all who knew.

Woes within him are raging,

the blade of hearts broke who?

The culprit was a victim,

or so did he think right.

Denials were within him,

a blind eye for his sight.

Time waited for destiny,

But went back to the past.

Then repeated secrecy,

The blade of hearts won't last.

About this poem

The moment we give others authority to rid our own soul of the same possessions we failed to keep, is the exact same moment we sacrifice our hearts. Learn to deprive others of that right and allow yourself access to things you already have within.
